WEEK 14

01

THEORY

At the Moscow International Book Fair I attended a masterclass on writing a comic script — or, really, any kind of story. It may be useful for my own narrative projects.

At Cosmoscow I listened to a conversation about how craftspeople become artists, and a discussion about visionaries and trend forecasting in art.

I am continuing the HSE course on the history of photography on Open Education. It is concise and substantial; I reached part six out of ten.

02

PRACTICE

In class with Lusine I worked with mixed media and collage, including a sheet built around a motorcycle image.

At Cosmoscow I made very fast observational drawings, moving through the fair and collecting everything that caught my eye onto a single sheet.

I drew in pencil at my parents’ place and continued working with a stencil-printing sheet that grew out of my sketchbook.

03

RESIDENCIES / OPEN CALLS

I applied to Garage for a photobook / photozine laboratory.

I submitted an application to a Chinese painting competition.

I am preparing a project for the open call “Снизу ещё не постучали”; the deadline is 15 September.

At the same time I am making the zine “How I Spent My Summer” for a zine competition. This one is a little easier because I want to assemble my weekly reports into one book. The deadline is also 15 September.

04

ART MARKET

This week included the Moscow International Book Fair and Cosmoscow. Some of the observations and conclusions from the fair have already turned into separate Instagram materials.

I continued building the infrastructure for “Sonya Enokaeva’s Walking Gallery” and thinking about the website as a working tool rather than only a portfolio.
